So I chose the divorce niche to start doing the contest with. Not sure if it was the best choice now that I think about it since I've never been through a divorce, but that is ok. I can do research just like anyone else.
So I started doing the keyword research using the methods I learned in the video. I put divorce into the google search bar and wrote down all the results that popped up underneath the bar... divorce papers, divorce advice, divorce statistics, divorce rate, divorce records, divorce laws, divorce process, divorce lawyers, divorce court, divorce care.
I then went to clickbank and commission junction to see what products I could promote using these keywords. I found some ebooks about divorce and some lawyer websites on cj. I decided to use divorce lawyers to narrow down my keyword niche.
I found a bunch of long tail keywords I could use with the wonder wheel... divorce custody advice, divorce my husband, divorce settlement advice... but there were only maybe 8 that had less than 3,000 results when I put them in quotes. I chose "divorce advice for fathers" for my first blog.
I made a new blogger blog at http://advice-surviving-divorce.blogspot.com/and wrote my first blog. At first I tried to put some links in there for articles and things I found, but google decided my blog looked like a spam blog and so now it has to be reviewed. Live and learn. I erased all the links and just wrote about a general blog about places fathers could go.
I never understood why you couldn't make a blog with a list of links. It seems like an easy way to put everything someone might need in one spot, but the blogging sites hate it. Oh well. So hopefully my blog will be able to be seen before the end of the contest. I think for now I might just make another niche until I hear back from google that my blog can actually be seen.
